You can sub tomato juice with either tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes; the sauce will be a bit thicker which is kind of nice sometimes, so just depends on what you prefer if you have both.This recipe makes a lot of sauce so either cut it in half if you don't need it all, or save the leftovers for another recipe, or freeze it for later.

Ingredients
1tablespoontoasted sesame oil
3cupstomato juiceunsalted
1cuppineapple juice
⅓cup maple syrupor honey
2tablespoonsapple cider vinegar
2tablespoonsDijon mustardor other mustard
1teaspoon saltor less is ok too
½teaspoononion powder
Instructions
Place all the sauce ingredients in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Store leftover sauce in the refrigerator for a few days or freeze for a few months.
